For the first time, theories about the location of the sunken ship appeared in 2021.

It was then that underwater archaeologists found various wrecks.

Coins from the time of Emperor Constantine were also discovered.

After that, the work continued.

Later, scientists managed to identify the 9-meter-long hull of the ship.

It was buried under layers of sand near the Roman port of Barbir.

The discovered ship was in almost pristine condition.

However, there is minor shipworm damage.

Archaeologists assumed that its age is 2000 years.

According to scientists, the ship was loaded with goods from all over the Mediterranean.
