Today, the Cyrillic alphabet is not only the property of the Bulgarian people.

Leaving our lands, the letters illuminate a much wider spiritual space and impoverish hundreds of millions of people.

Having become our most valuable gift to human civilization, the Cyrillic alphabet builds bridges and connects worlds.

Old Bulgarian literature became a fateful phenomenon and a model for the Slavic peoples.

And he added that we Bulgarians are called to be guardians of the Cyrillic alphabet.

According to the head of state, this requires daily care for literacy and confirmation of the historical facts about the Cyrillic alphabet. 

The President noted that he was impressed by the presence of the academic community at today's forum.
