In the Chhawla rape-murder case of 2012, the Supreme Court has ordered the release of the death sentence of the three convicts.

The Supreme Court today set aside the decision of the Delhi High Court.

A bench of Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, Justice S Ravindra Bhat and Justice Bela M Trivedi gave this verdict.

The family of the deceased girl seems to be very hurt by this decision of the court.

Responding to the decision of the Supreme Court, the parents of the deceased girl said, "We are broken by this decision, we have suffered a lot for 12 years, the accused used to threaten to cut us in the court itself, there is a blind law, we Will continue the fight against the verdict."

Ravi Kumar, Rahul and Vinod were convicted under various charges of kidnapping, rape and murder in the Chhawla rape-murder case.

On 7 April 2022, the Supreme Court had reserved the verdict on the death of the three convicts.

The Supreme Court had to decide whether to uphold the death sentence of the three.

A bench of Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, Justice S Ravindra Bhat and Justice Bela M Trivedi had reserved the decision after hearing all the parties.

However, the Delhi Police had opposed the application to reduce the death sentence.

On behalf of the police, ASG Aishwarya Bhati said that this crime has not only happened with the victim but with the whole society.

No concession can be given to the guilty as they have committed such a heinous crime.

The culprits not only gang-raped the girl but also insulted her dead body.

Delhi's Dwarka court had in February 2014 convicted three men for the rape and murder of a 19-year-old girl in 2012 and sentenced them to death.

The mutilated body of the victim was found in a field in Haryana's Rewari.

Ravi Kumar, Rahul and Vinod were convicted under various charges of kidnapping, rape and murder.

On 26 August 2014, the Delhi High Court confirmed the death sentence, saying they were "hunters" who were roaming the streets and "looking for prey". The three convicts challenged the Delhi High Court order in the Supreme Court. Was.

Meanwhile, the victim's family had filed an intervention application to provide assistance to the bench regarding the offense committed by the convicts.
