"Perhaps Azerbaijan is among the top three safest countries in the world."

APA reports that Bakhtiyar Aliyev, chairman of the committee, said this at the meeting of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis.

The chairman of the committee said that there was no need to protect our schools so much.

Azerbaijan has joined the Council of Europe Convention "On the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Violence", and we must adapt our laws accordingly.

But we have to do it according to the national legislation.

The state of Azerbaijan always follows this principle."

Deputy Jeyhun Mammadov noted that he agrees with the idea that Azerbaijan is the safest country in the world: "But a few days ago, some incidents related to the safety of schools took place. Therefore, it is necessary to pay more attention to this area."

Deputy Etibar Aliyev raised the issue of increasing attention to ensuring safety around schools.

It should be noted that according to the proposed change to the Law "On Education" and "On General Education", those convicted of sexual violence will not be able to engage in teaching activities.
