The extinguishing of the train, which caught fire yesterday evening in the Kaspichan region, has been completed, BNR reported.

The initial inspection by the firefighters showed that there were no victims or injured people in the first car.

This means that all around 50 people who traveled in the direction from Sofia to Varna were evacuated and in good condition.

The only person injured in the accident was the driver of the train, who injured his hand when he tried to detach the locomotive from the first car.

Mains electricity to the site has been switched off to prevent re-ignition.

About fifty passengers were transported to Kaspichan station, and from there they will be taken to Varna.

A second inspection is expected at the scene of the accident today.

It will also be attended by experts from the railway company, so that they can assess the causes of the fire.

The signal about the burning train was submitted to the fire department in Shumen around 8:45 p.m.
