Inclusive regional cooperation in Southeast Europe is a leading foreign policy priority of Bulgaria.

within the framework of his speech at the Summit of the heads of the countries of the Berlin Process for the Western Balkans, the government information service reported.

This, in his words, complements and builds on the process of European integration, supports democratization and development, and strengthens the stability and security of the region.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister stated that our country is engaged and actively works with the countries of the region for their successful European integration, based on their own merits.

"Following the basic principles of good neighbourliness, inclusion, mutual understanding and reconciliation, we can contribute to the achievement of our common goal of a prosperous, stable and secure Europe," the Prime Minister pointed out.

The Prime Minister highlighted the key role of the Greece-Bulgaria intersystem gas connection for the diversification of gas sources, for improving the security and flexibility of supplies, as well as for promoting competition for the benefit of the end user.

The Prime Minister also noted with satisfaction the progress in the construction of the Bulgaria-Serbia gas connection, which is also of strategic importance.

In his speech, he emphasized the contract signed at the beginning of this week between "Bulgartransgaz" and the state company of the Republic of North Macedonia "GA-MA" for the construction of a new interconnector.

confirmed the readiness of the Bulgarian state to assist the partners from the Western Balkans in achieving the goals of the European Green Deal, also reflected in the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

"We remain firmly committed to bilateral and regional cooperation with all our neighbors in this and other areas," added the Prime Minister.
