The restoration of small hydropower plants in the liberated territories, the attraction of foreign investment in the construction of wind power plants in Lachin and Kalbajar are among the main priorities.

"APA-Economics" informs that this was said by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov during his speech at the conference on "Post-conflict model under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev".

According to him, studies are currently being conducted for the restoration and construction of more than 50 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of more than 320 MW.

"The restoration and construction of 7 small hydropower plants with a total capacity of 33.4 MW is being carried out.

The restoration of 11 small hydroelectric power stations in almost two years will bring about 54 megawatts of production capacity to the energy system," the minister noted.

In addition to these, the commissioning of the 140 MW Khudafarin and Giz Galasi hydroelectric stations and hydropower plants on the Araz River will contribute to the "green" development of the region.
