Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not sure whether Russia will use nuclear weapons, but refused to assess such a risk.

Zelensky said this in an interview with Czech television.

Journalists asked the head of state whether he believes that a nuclear war is possible, because Russia is threatening to use nuclear weapons.

"I'm not sure.

I don't even want to give an assessment, because Russia likes to do the opposite

. "What they say in Ukraine: "There will be no use of nuclear weapons", - "Oh, let's think about how to use it", - so I I don't want to give this assessment because there is such a threat," the president replied.

At the same time, he emphasized that there is no need to fear Russia, but at the same time he said that he does not consider its representatives to be adequate.

"There's no need to be afraid of that.

You don't need to be afraid of Russia

. I don't think they're adequate. You don't need to connect Russia's ultimatums or the fulfillment of their conditions with the fact that if you don't fulfill them, they will use weapons. These are unrelated things." - said Zelenskyi.

Nuclear threat from Russia

High-ranking Russian military officials recently discussed when an aggressor country might use nuclear weapons in a war against Ukraine.

This caused concern in the United States, The New York Times reported, citing sources.

Commenting on this information, the spokesman of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Peskov, called the discussion of a nuclear strike on Ukraine "pumping up the topic."

The day before, the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, Dmytro Medvedev, exploded with nuclear threats.

He threatened to use these weapons in the event of Ukraine's victory in the war.

On October 27, the Pentagon reported that there were no signs that Russian President Vladimir Putin had decided to use nuclear weapons or a "dirty bomb."
