[Instant News/Comprehensive Report] Wikipedia owner "Wikimedia Foundation" (Wikimedia Foundation) was fined 2 million rubles (about NT$1.04 million) by a Russian district court for refusing to delete articles related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

According to the "Moscow Times" report, since launching the war of aggression against Ukraine, Russia has carried out various internal propaganda and brainwashing in the country, prohibiting the use of "invasion", "aggression" and other related words to describe the action against Ukraine, and now the clutch is still extended to Wikipedia all over the world trying to interfere with relevant content written in Russian.

On Tuesday (11/1), the Tagansky District Court in Moscow responded to two articles in Russian titled "Civilian Civilian Resistance of Ukraine During the Russian Invasion" and "Assessment of Russia's Invasion of Ukraine in 2022" , found the content to be untrue, and fined the Wikimedia Foundation 2 million rubles for refusing to delete it.

In response, Vladimir Medeiko, head of the Russian branch of the Wikimedia Foundation, said that no one would delete the entries and would appeal the unreasonable ruling.

In June of this year, the Wikimedia Foundation was also fined 5 million rubles (about NT$2.58 million) by Russia for similar reasons.
