[Reporter Cai Yahua/Taipei Report] The North Vancouver non-profit kindergarten operated by the Taipei City Education Bureau entrusted by the Taipei City Education and Security Personnel Association was originally planned to officially open yesterday (1st) for admission. A letter was sent to the parents, stating that on October 31, they received a notice from the Education Bureau that they had not obtained a license for use. Dropped other kindergartens and wanted to study in North Vancouver, but North Vancouver did this the day before the start of school, which is too exaggerated.

The reporter asked the Taipei Municipal Bureau of Education yesterday afternoon (1st), and after nearly a whole day, there has been no response so far. It is not yet clear how many children are affected, the follow-up to the kindergarten and how the children are placed.

A parent provided this newspaper with a letter signed "A Principal of a Kindergarten in North Vancouver". The letter pointed out that "North Vancouver has apologized several times since its inception, but this time there is a problem that we cannot solve. Today in October At 17:30 on the 31st, I received a notice from the Education Bureau: Because the architect was unfamiliar with this site when he applied for a license, and the use license was not approved for a long time in the trial, the Construction Management Office informed that the site could not be used, so the final decision was made. The collection (start of school) on the original date of November 1 is still not possible.”

The letter also pointed out that the venue itself is not safe to use, and considering the safety of young children, it cannot be collected.

After discussing with the Education Bureau, there are several ways, including the Education Bureau actively coordinating the temporary use of the venue, and the detailed collection time when the transfer needs to be announced separately; the Education Bureau negotiates with the original kindergarten and assists children to transfer back to the original kindergarten; education The bureau assisted in finding kindergartens that can be nursed. Currently, there are still vacancies in the Chunghwa Telecom Workplace Mutual Aid Education and Insurance Center on Guangming Road.

In the letter, the principal once again expressed his apology to the parents, emphasizing that "we only learned the news this evening, and for us who have worked overtime for many days and have prepared the kindergarten environment, we really feel powerless and helpless. After all, we only hoped to open the kindergarten last week. We were able to think carefully before, but after the decision was made, the result was still beyond our control, especially since we didn’t know the news that the permit could not be approved until today, so we really had to inform everyone as soon as possible.”

The principal also said in the letter that understanding this state makes everyone feel very angry and even helpless.

They and the current state of the Education Bureau will have big problems with the kindergarten’s future trust and the cohesion of parents. “But the current license issue will affect the safety of the child’s environment. We can only accept the status quo.”
