Based on many tests and analyses, almost all hypotheses were eliminated, only one remained - a problem that colleagues are currently fixing.

These are seals that are currently being replaced.

This was stated by the Acting Energy Minister Rosen Hristov

Rosen Hristov holds a master's degree in international economic relations from the University of California at a briefing at the Kozloduy NPP.

"The seals have not failed, this is the first time colleagues have encountered such a problem.

They are new, replaced, now they are disassembled and reassembled, and after the tests it will be seen if the new sealing has an effect", he added.

On the occasion of the possibility of the Kozloduy NPP to participate in the diversification of nuclear fuel, the minister did not go into specifics, but stated: "Literally in the next weeks we are planning a procedure for a supplier of nuclear fuel.

So far, two companies have expressed an active desire to participate - Westinghouse and Framatum.

Both companies have outstanding reputations.

We expect a competitive procedure and to secure fuel supplies from sources independent of Russia as soon as possible.

As you know, supplies from Russia are in question.”

"Both companies will be considered on the same terms, we will provide the best possible environment with access to information to present the companies in the best light, and accordingly the better technical and financial company will win."

It will take months, we will not rush and we will not put the delivery at risk, so there will be no compromises with the licensing and the overall process", added the minister.

It's official!

The sixth unit of the Kozloduy NPP has been shut down

He also clarified that one of the key conditions for a supplier of nuclear fuel is the removal of spent fuel and he is adamant that there will be no compromises.
