According to the Prime Minister, today's holiday is also a day to pay tribute to the memory of the great Bulgarians.

"Let it also be a day when we encourage young Bulgarians in their first steps as our successors," urged the Prime Minister.

According to the old style, it is the day of St. John of Rila - the heavenly patron of the Bulgarian people.

One hundred years later, awakening continues to be the force with which educators ignite the spark of knowledge in each of us," he recalled.
