No movements of cargo ships carrying Ukrainian grain have been confirmed for today in the Black Sea, the Joint Coordination Center (JCC), which is tasked with monitoring the implementation of the international agreement signed in the summer, reported.

"The SCC did not reach a common agreement on the exit and entry of cargo ships on October 30," the center said in a statement released tonight, after Moscow ended its participation in the agreement signed on July 22 in Istanbul, citing a drone attack on its ships.

Ukraine: Russia's decision on the grain deal shows that negotiating with Moscow is futile

The SCC, which includes representatives of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN in Istanbul, said that the UN coordinator for the Black Sea Grain Initiative, Amir Abdullah, was informed yesterday by the Russian delegation of its concerns and informed the Turkish and Ukrainian delegations about them.

At the moment, there is no official reaction of Ankara to the announcement.

A security source told AFP last night that Turkey had not been formally notified of Russia's withdrawal from the agreement.

"SCC is studying the development of recent events, assessing their impact on its activities and discussing the next stages," he added.

The coordination center specified that nine cargo ships passed through the Black Sea corridor yesterday, and more than ten vessels are ready to do so, in both directions.

The agreement provides for inspection of cargo ships passing through the Bosphorus in both directions, empty and loaded, by five teams consisting of two Russian, two Ukrainian, two Turkish inspectors and two UN representatives.

Since the beginning of the month, Ukraine has criticized the slow inspections, accusing Russia of obstructing them.

The SCC has this week listed more than 170 cargo ships waiting for inspection off Istanbul.

According to the center, the agreement, effective from August 1, has enabled the export of more than 9 million tons of grain and other agricultural products from Ukrainian ports.
