The State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine has learned that Russia is carrying out illegal construction at the captured Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and is calling on the IAEA to check this.

Oleg Korikov, the acting head of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission, the chief state inspector for nuclear and radiation safety, told about this on the 27th during a briefing.

According to him, Russia is building something at the captured Zaporizhzhya NPP.

However, Ukraine cannot find out what is happening there.

"The State Atomic Energy Agency has already asked the IAEA to check what is happening at the ZNPP. So that we get more complete information," said Korikov.

It will be recalled that Oleksiy Gromov, the deputy chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that the Russian army during the retreat may resort to acts of terrorism, in particular the detonation of residential areas or the Zaporizhzhia NPP, in order to permanently disable the plant and provoke a man-made catastrophe, blaming Ukraine.
