The United States has accelerated the deployment of a more accurate version of its main nuclear bomb at

NATO

bases in Europe.

Washington decided to take such actions against the background of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's threats to use nuclear weapons.

This is reported by the American Politico with reference to sources.

The publication writes that the arrival of the upgraded B61-12 gravity bomb was planned for the spring of 2023.

However, it was accelerated and now the arrival should take place already in December 2022.

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder said that while they do not intend to discuss the details of the nuclear arsenal, "the modernization of the American B61 nuclear weapon has been underway for many years."

"We plan to safely and responsibly replace the old weapon with a modernized version of the B61-12. This is part of a long-planned modernization and is in no way related to the current events in Ukraine and was not accelerated in any way," the politician emphasized.

Nuclear threats of the Russian dictator

It is not the first month that Russian President Vladimir Putin blackmails the world with the fact that he can use nuclear weapons.

The other day, Moscow

made a training strike on Kamchatka

.

At most, the head of the Kremlin personally observed how training launches of ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads were carried out.

Ukrainian intelligence believes that the

use of nuclear weapons is the last trump card in Putin's hands

, but it may be the end for him.

However, the scenario with the use of nuclear weapons is unlikely, the GUR emphasizes.

The Pentagon also states that

they see no signs that the Russian Federation is preparing to use nuclear weapons.

Together with you, Washington continues to closely monitor the development of the situation.
