On Wednesday, October 26, the district court in the Czech city of Kladno sent two video bloggers Patrik Tushl and Tomasz Cermak to prison for 10 and 6 months for public statements against Ukrainians.

This was reported by Novinky.cz.

The verdict was handed down on the same day that the court started hearing the case.

Both defendants, who were still in custody, were brought to the court by escorts.

The prosecutor's office brought charges for the crime of defamation of a nation, race, ethnic group or other group of persons, as well as for inciting hatred against a group of persons or restricting their rights and freedoms.

According to the indictment, in August of this year, Patrik Tušl and Tomas Čermak broadcast a live video on social networks in which they spoke disparagingly of Ukrainians and called for counter-demonstrations in response to their actions in the Czech Republic.

In particular, Chermak said, among other things: "Ukrainians are starting to multiply here, one demonstration after another.

We must act now or we will go to hell.”

The video also contained several offensive and obscene remarks against Ukrainians.

At the trial, both admitted that the format of the video was inappropriate and that the performance was inappropriate.

Although the sanction of the article provides up to three years of imprisonment, the court limited itself to a milder punishment.

Patrick Tushl will be in prison for 10 months, his colleague Tomas Cermak - only half a year.

The verdict is not final, it can be appealed.

We will remind you that in the Czech city of Litomerzhitsi, unknown persons painted the pedestal of the monument to fallen Red Army soldiers, making it look like a washing machine.

The very sculpture of the Soviet soldier was doused with red paint.
