During the past week (from October 17 to 23), 16,908 new cases of

COVID-19

were detected in Ukraine .

In particular, 1,808 children were infected.

This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Health.

4,341 patients were hospitalized in medical institutions.

As a result of complications from the disease, another 189 died. By the way, since the beginning of the pandemic, the disease has claimed the lives of 110,008 Ukrainians.

30,615 people recovered last week.

Last week, 126,982 people were vaccinated against COVID-19.

It is noted that 8.6% of all vaccinations are the first doses, 7.8% are the second doses, 70.2% are the first booster doses, and 13.4% are the second booster doses.

Also for the entire time of the pandemic in Ukraine:

  •  fell ill - 5,296,254 people;,

  •  recovered - 5,126,052 people,

  • 32,603,805 tests were conducted (by PCR and express methods).

Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, 16,157,762 people have been vaccinated, of which 15,347,573 people received two doses, 2,605,902 people received the first booster dose, and 92,182 people received the second booster dose.

As reported, at the beginning of October, the KMDA

 urged residents of the capital to return to wearing masks in public places

.

Businesses are also asked to update the markings to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 m between visitors.
