More than a dozen student associations from the University of Athens and the National Technical University of Athens will organize today a protest rally at Propylaea in the center of the Greek capital, Kathimerini reported.

The students will protest against the court's decision to legalize the police in universities, but also for their social benefits.

Chief among them is student opposition to campus police, which the groups say must be abolished "immediately."

They are also protesting living conditions in university dormitories after residents were told there would be a shortage of hot water in the coming months in a bid to cut energy costs.

Passengers are warned that the protest rally at noon is expected to cause traffic jams and disruptions to traffic and transport schedules.
