The airline is currently investigating the cause of the incident.

Korean Air said flight KE361 had been taken to three hotels in the area and additional flights were being prepared for passengers.

It issued an apology letter on the airline's website, stating that a thorough investigation would be conducted with the local aviation authority and the Korean authorities.
