The Group of Seven industrialized nations (G-7) condemned Russia for kidnapping the management of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and called for the immediate return of full control of the plant to Ukraine, Reuters reported.

"We condemn the repeated abduction by Russia of managers and employees of the Ukrainian NPP Zaporozhye," said a statement from the G-7 countries.

"We call on Russia to immediately return full control of the power plant to its rightful sovereign owner - Ukraine," it said.

Russian forces have controlled the nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, since the first days of their invasion of Ukraine, which began in February, BTA adds.
