Military expert Oleg Zhdanov replied that drones cannot evade missiles of air defense systems.
The military expert said this on his YouTube channel on October 22.
"A deviation from anti-aircraft missiles cannot be programmed into the drone's program, because for this you need to put a device on the drone that detects anti-aircraft missiles. They are all subsonic. The maneuver of deflecting a drone from an anti-aircraft missile is practically impossible. Today, the only advantage of a drone is that
they are inconspicuous and they are almost silent
during operation. Everything else, in particular, they cannot overcome the air defense system," he explained.
Air defense systems for Ukraine from partners
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on October 12 that the United States would provide Ukraine with air defense systems as soon as physically possible.
And on October 20, after massive attacks by Iranian drones in Ukraine, the Pentagon announced that they plan to continue working with allies to provide the Armed Forces with the necessary means of defense.
Note that 11 Ukraine received the IRIS-T air defense system from Germany, which has proven itself very positively on the battlefield.
The system effectively shoots down Russian drones.
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced on October 21 that in a few months, Ukraine will significantly strengthen its air defense.
