The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksand Lukashenko, has again stated that he does not want to fight and that his country "does not need war".

He said this during a briefing at the Obuz-Lisnovsky training ground in the Brest region on October 21.

"We are not going anywhere today. There is no war today. We don't need it. We need to calm down. Everyone should do their job if we want there to be no war. We don't need

it, but we have to be ready for anything

," - answered the Belarusian dictator to the journalists' questions.

The threat of an attack by Belarus on Ukraine

Minsk has been helping Russia in the war since the first days of the large-scale invasion of Ukraine.

In particular, the territory of the republic became a bridgehead for launching missiles across Ukraine.

In October, Lukashenko and Putin decided to jointly deploy troops.

On the night of October 15, a

military echelon arrived from the Russian Federation for a joint regional grouping of troops

.

On October 20, the head of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksiy Gromov, said at a briefing that the threat of an attack on Ukraine by Belarus is increasing, but it is not about an attack on Kyiv.

This time, the occupying forces can go to the west of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

The Ukrainian army appealed to Belarusians not to carry out the criminal orders of Lukashenka.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that in the event of an open entry of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus into the war, they will give a strong response to this step.

The Ukrainian military assured that Ukraine has never threatened and does not threaten Belarus today.
