Oleksiy Gromov, the deputy chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, predicts that the leadership of the Russian army may take experienced soldiers from the right bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region, and leave mobilized ones to deter the Armed Forces.

He said this at a briefing on October 20.

"Regarding the Kherson direction... The enemy group can withdraw from the right-bank part of the region to the left-bank part. We are considering one of the options that the enemy can withdraw and leave those mobilized primarily to carry out deterrence tasks - to cover the withdrawal of their troops, and the most combat-capable personnel units be transferred in advance to the left bank of the region," Gromov said.

The General Staff understands that the mobilized Russians will not be able to offer strong resistance to the Ukrainian defenders.

According to Gromov, no matter what decisions are made by the military and political leadership of Russia, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fulfilling their tasks of deoccupation and will continue to fulfill them in the future.
