The last year has been full of successes in the direction of increasing the stability of our electric power system and developing it in new content.

With the commissioning of new power plants, the total electricity production capacity of our country has reached 7,953.9 MW, which means an increase of 392.4 MW or 4.9% compared to last year.

According to the information provided to "APA-Economics" by the Ministry of Energy, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said this in an interview on the Day of Energy Workers.

According to him, the electric power system includes 22 thermal power plants with a total capacity of 6,642 MW, 30 hydropower plants with a total capacity of 1,158.1 MW, a solid household waste power plant with a capacity of 37 MW, 4 wind power plants with a total capacity of 63.3 MW, there are 8 solar power plants with a capacity of 46.1 MW and 3 hybrid power plants with a total capacity of 7.4 MW.

The capacity of renewable energy power plants, including hydropower plants, is 1,311.9 MW, which is approximately 16.5% of the total production capacity.

During this period, in addition to increasing the generation power, achievements were also made in the electricity network.

Currently, 240 110-500 kV substations with a total capacity of 28,619 MVA are in operation.
