The European Union will provide Ukraine and Moldova with additional humanitarian aid worth 175 million euros and will send shelters suitable for winter conditions to Ukraine, DPA reported, referring to European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarchic, who is on a visit to Kyiv, reported BTA.

"The coming winter is likely to bring many challenges to Ukraine and we must be prepared," said Lenarchic.

"Temporary shelter capacity will be deployed immediately in three different Ukrainian regions: Rivne, Bucha and Kharkiv," he added.

"The EU will also boost its funding for humanitarian aid with an additional 175 million euros to provide education, food, access to water and protection from the cold winter for the most vulnerable," Lenarcic said.

According to information from the European Commission, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the EU has provided humanitarian aid worth 485 million euros to Ukraine and 38 million euros to Moldova.
