OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) expects the demand for energy carriers to increase by 23% by 2045.

According to the information provided by "APA-Economics" with reference to the foreign press, the general secretary of the organization Heysam al-Qais said about this.

"The demand for energy carriers is expected to increase by 23% from 258.7 million barrels in 2021 and reach a significant 351 million barrels per day by 2045," said Heysam Al-Qais.

At the same time, the Secretary General emphasized that the main part of the demand will fall on the share of oil.

Referring to the decision to reduce oil production, Heysam al-Qais noted that the members of the "OPEC+" alliance agreed on the need to take active steps to prevent new crises in the future.

Let's remember that at the 33rd meeting of the ministers of OPEC member and non-member countries held in Vienna, starting from November 2022, daily crude oil production will increase to 2 mln.

Azerbaijan also agreed to the decision on the release of barrels.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is a participant of "OPEC+" (an initiative to reduce oil production involving OPEC and non-OPEC countries - ed.).
