Just six weeks after the elections, the head of the Conservative Party of Great Britain and at the same time the country's prime minister, Liz Truss, lost the support of her fellow party members.

Most of the conservatives would gladly return to her place Boris Johnson, who resigned not so long ago.

This is reported by Sky News.

A YouGov survey of members of Britain's ruling Conservative Party shows that if the election were held now, the incumbent prime minister's rival Rishi Sunak would receive 55% of the vote.

Support for Liz Truss is only 25% of the vote.

According to the poll, 55% of Tories want Truss to leave now, with just 38% saying she should stay on.

A majority of Conservatives (63%) would like former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was forced to resign after an internal party rebellion, to return to the post of head of government.

Other possible replacements for Liz Truss are the current Chancellor of the Exchequer and Johnson's long-time rival Jeremy Hunt and the candidate who finished third in the last election, Penny Mordaunt.

The poll came on the day Chancellor Hunt announced the government was reversing the failed tax cuts that threw the UK economy into chaos.

It will be recalled that the British Prime Minister apologized for "mistakes", but assured that she will lead the Conservative Party in the next general election.
