Newly elected Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in a press conference today that in the 75-year history of independence, Congress strengthened democracy.

    Mallikarjun Kharge got 7,897 votes out of 8,969 valid votes, while Shashi Tharoor got the remaining 1,072 votes.
