, at least 603 people have died and more than 1.3 million people have been forced to leave their homes     due to large-scale

floods caused by seasonal downpours.

This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.

Floods flooded more than 108,000 hectares of agricultural land and damaged 82,053,000 houses.

The Meteorological Agency of Nigeria reported that

32 of the country's 36 states will be affected by flooding, which may intensify in the near future

.

In this regard, the government asked the regional authorities to evacuate the population and provide the necessary assistance - tents, water and medical supplies.

Nigerian states including Anambra, Delta, Cross River, Rivers and Bayelsa are at risk of flooding.

Last week, the Nigerian government confirmed that about 75 people drowned in Anambra state when their boat capsized as people tried to escape the flood.
