Talking to NDTV, TMC MP Dr Shantanu Sen alleged that Sourav Ganguly was removed from the post of BCCI President for not joining BJP.

The TMC MP told NDTV, "Sourav Ganguly is the one who brought the concept of Team India. Who took the Indian team to the final of the World Cup. Who was such an able President of BCCI. His only fault was that he did not join BJP. He did not become a candidate against Trinamool Congress and Mamata Banerjee. Talking to Manoranjan Bharti, Dr. Shantanu Sen further said that Sourav Ganguly's fault was only that he refused to join BJP even after Home Minister Amit Shah had dinner at his house.

The MP said that Amit Shah's son would have rarely caught a cricket bat and ball, but kept them there.
