Russia and NATO

On Monday, October 17, NATO also kicks off its annual Steadfast Noon nuclear exercise, in which up to 60 aircraft will take part in training flights over Belgium, the North Sea and Britain.

As Reuters reports,

the NATO exercises coincide with Russia's annual nuclear exercises

, which are called "Thunder" and are traditionally held at the end of October.

The spokesman of the President of Russia, Dmytro Peskov, said that

NATO's assistance to Ukraine "complicates everything"

and hinted at further mobilization in Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is so irritated by the support of Ukraine's allies that he recently declared that a direct

confrontation between NATO and the Russian army is extremely dangerous

, as it would turn into a global catastrophe.
