According to Reuters, Fumio Kishida is preparing to investigate the Unification Church under the Religious Legal Persons Act.

As many members of the Liberal Democratic Party to which Fumio Kishida belongs have contacts with the Unification Church, the support rate of the Kishida government has continued to decline.

Fumio Kishida said that he has no personal relationship with the church, and the Liberal Democratic Party has no connection with the church.

An expert panel composed of the Japanese government said in a report released on the 17th that the dissolution of the Unification Church is a direction that investigators can consider.

The Unification Church's full name is "World Peaceful Unification Family Federation" and was founded in 1954 by South Korean pastor Moon Myung Sun.
