Kevin Spacey has denied allegations of sexual assault made against him by actor Anthony Rapp, Reuters reported.

The two-time Academy Award winner testified today in the trial, which is being heard in a court in New York.

The plaintiff alleges that he was sexually assaulted in 1986 when he was 14 years old.

Anthony Rapp, now 50, testified earlier this month.

He said that under the influence of alcohol, Spacey - then 26 years old and appearing in Broadway productions - tried to seduce him at a party in his Manhattan apartment.

Rapp, whose Broadway career in the mid-1980s was just beginning, says he was able to "get away," but the experience left lasting scars.

Meanwhile, U.S. District Judge Louis Kaplan dismissed Rapp's claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the magistrate, this reiterates the accusations he has already made against Spacey, which will be heard by a jury after the defendant presents his case and both sides present closing arguments.

Last week, the defense disputed Anthony Rapp's claims about the 1986 incident during cross-examination.

The plaintiff was asked why he described the meeting in a bedroom, since Spacey was living in a studio at the time.

Anthony Rapp filed a lawsuit in November 2020 seeking $40 million in damages for personal injury and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Kevin Spacey won two Academy Awards - for his supporting role in the 1995 film The Usual Suspects and for his leading role in 1999's American Charm. However, his career suffered greatly after more than 20 men rejected him. accused of sexual assault.
