Russia may transfer Iskander-M dual-equipped complexes to Belarus and will convert part of the Su-25 attack aircraft to the technical ability to carry nuclear weapons.

Chairman of the Board of the Center for Defense Strategies, former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Zahorodnyuk commented on the new nuclear blackmail by the Russian Federation and its satellite, Belarus.

NV informs about this.

According to Zagorodnyuk, the statement about the transfer of launch missiles and the possibility of attaching nuclear charges to aircraft to Belarus means that the Kremlin is thus threatening not only Ukraine, but also other countries of Eastern Europe, expecting that the countries of Eastern Europe will get scared and start demanding nuclear de-escalation.

"Everything in the Russian Federation is now subordinated to one idea - let's somehow bring Ukraine to the negotiating table. At the moment, everything they are doing is aimed exclusively at this, because they are already exhausted, they lack the strength to continue any offensive actions. And also they see that Ukraine has the forces for counteroffensive actions, they cannot stop Ukraine, and in this way they are trying to postpone the possibility of a final defeat," the ex-minister believes.

Zagorodniuk assumes that by resorting to nuclear blackmail, the Russian Federation wants to find time to rest, replenish its strength, recover and train the mobilized.

A nuclear strike: blackmail or a real threat

We will remind, on September 29, CNN, citing US intelligence, reported that the probability that Russian President Vladimir Putin will use tactical nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine may be the highest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24.

The Pentagon said that they "take seriously" Putin's nuclear threats.

The United States will react harshly to a nuclear attack on Ukraine, said US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.

This will not depend on which nuclear weapon Russia will use against Ukraine.

Advisor to the President's Office, Oleksiy Arestovich, suggested that Putin could use nuclear weapons from the territory of Belarus, and then shift all responsibility for the crime to the self-proclaimed president, Alexander Lukashenko.

And the Russian political scientist and publicist Andriy Piontkovskyi named three reasons why Putin would not dare to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.
