The President's Office reacted to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's cynical statement that he does not regret the war he started in Ukraine.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the OP chairman, believes that the Kremlin leader wants to "remove responsibility" from himself with such a statement.

Podolyak wrote about this on his Twitter page.

"Putin's statement that he does not regret anything, and the war should have happened anyway, is a hypocritical abdication of responsibility. Let me remind you: Ukraine did not attack anyone. Neither did NATO. It is Russia that invaded a foreign country, terrorizes cities and executes people. If the Russian Federation didn't want this war, it simply wouldn't have happened," the adviser to the head of OP Putin answered.

Putin wants a "truce" with Ukraine

After the crushing defeats of the Russian army at the front, Kremlin leader Putin started talking about "negotiations" with Ukraine.

But with only one goal - to buy time and go on the offensive again in the spring of 2023.

The Russian opposition publication "Meduza" reports, citing anonymous sources,

Putin is really thinking about a possible renewal of the negotiations, which stopped in the spring of 2022.

At the same time, the Russian president wants Russia to retain control over the territories of Donbas, and "does not want to discuss Crimea at all."

Sources close to the Kremlin and the government of the Russian Federation say that

the authorities have developed a new "tactical option" which

provides for the introduction of a

temporary ceasefire regime

According to the plan of the Kremlin, the Russian and Ukrainian military

could agree on this

without the involvement of the presidents of both states.
