"Investigation in the United States continues in connection with the shooting at the official car of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington on the night of October 10-11.

But most likely, this is the act of Armenian diaspora organizations, Armenian organizations prone to terrorism."

Former Foreign Minister Tofig Zulfugarov said this in his statement to APA.

Tofig Zulfugarov recalled the attacks of Armenian radical groups on our diplomatic missions in Great Britain, Lebanon and France: "In general, Armenian terrorist groups used terrorist and attack tactics against diplomatic missions.

Such provocations belong to Armenian political behavior."

Noting that no action has been taken against the attacks on our diplomatic missions in Great Britain, Lebanon and France, the former foreign minister noted that the countries where the incident was committed are responsible for the crime: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is committed to preventing such cases, takes appropriate steps to ensure that the perpetrators of the crimes are not exempted from responsibility and that such cases are not repeated.

It is required to conduct an appropriate investigation into each incident and ensure the security of our embassies and diplomats at the appropriate level.

In general, recent attacks by radical members of Armenian communities in foreign countries against diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan have a systematic nature, including Washington, Paris,

Attacks and acts of vandalism against our embassies in Beirut and other cities are a serious concern.

According to the Vienna Convention, ensuring the security of our diplomatic missions in foreign countries is the obligation of the host country under the international convention.

We expect that the relevant agencies of the United States will ensure the security of the Azerbaijani embassy, and those who participated in the crime and those who shot at the embassy's car will be brought to justice."

Tofig Zulfugarov reminded that as a result of Armenia's occupation policy, up to 1.5 million people remained in the country: "About 10 million Armenians live in different countries of the world.

It is impossible to find a country on the world map without at least 1-2 Armenians.

That is, the mentality of the Armenian people is diasporic.

In order to be in the center of attention, Armenians always create an image of themselves as victims and use the theme of the so-called genocide.

And now they want to come up with a new fictitious topic that they are supposedly the victims of some kind of pressure, occupation, and the only way to defend themselves is terrorism.

We saw this terrorist quality of Armenians in the example of Turkey in the 1970s, and these actions continued until the mid-1980s.

About 60 Turkish diplomats and their family members were victims of Armenian terrorism.

In the 1990s, the wave of terrorism was applied to Azerbaijan, explosions were carried out in subways, trains, and buses.

"Especially after the defeat in the 44-day war in 2020, the activation of Armenian terrorism was expected."

The former foreign minister emphasized once again that diplomatic missions should be protected by the countries where they are located: "According to the Vienna Convention, this is an obligation imposed on those countries.

On the other hand, as the security of the embassies in Azerbaijan is protected, our representations should be protected at the same level.

In addition, according to the circumstances, additional necessary security measures should be taken in relation to the embassies that are expected to be in danger.

I am sure that relevant steps have been taken and will be taken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan to solve these issues.
