Electricity supplied to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) from a foreign source has been restored.

APA reports that Rafael Grossi, general director of AEBA, said this on Twitter.

According to him, he was informed about this by the AEBA team at the NPP.

"The NPP operator says that this morning's power outage shows how dangerous the situation is.

The power outage occurred as a result of firing at a remote substation.

It is important to establish a protection zone in the area as soon as possible," Grossi said.

The electricity supplied to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) from a foreign source has been interrupted.

APA reports that Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AEBA), said this on Twitter.

"Our team at the Zaporozhye NPP informed me this morning that for the second time in 5 days, the power supply to the plant from an external source has been cut off.

Its backup diesel generators now provide electricity for nuclear safety and security functions,” said AEBA CEO.

He added that the repeated blackouts of the external power of the NPP is a deeply worrying event: "It shows the urgent need for nuclear safety and a protection zone around the site."
