Attacks on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus may indicate increased pressure from the Kremlin on the leadership of Belarus regarding the fulfillment of the obligations that the self-proclaimed president of the Republic, Oleksandr Lukashenko, took upon himself regarding participation in the so-called "special military operation."

In order to finally pressure him to participate in the war against Ukraine, so that he would give the order for the participation of the Belarusian military in the war.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Valery Ryabikh.

"I do not rule out that such an order may not be carried out. The probability of this is high. The fact is that the Belarusian military does not have a special motivation to participate in the war against Ukraine. In addition, the mentality of the Belarusian military still has differences from the mentality of the Russians, on imperial morals. And ignoring such an order will be tantamount to the fall of the Belarusian regime," the expert added.

What Ukraine needs for anti-missile defense

According to him, Ukraine insists on all possible platforms that it needs more air defense and anti-missile defense.

In particular, they are necessary to destroy a Russian nuclear missile, if the Kremlin does decide to use nuclear weapons.

"We have systems designed to shoot down certain types of missiles. But to ensure anti-missile defense, slightly different models are needed. Unfortunately, anti-aircraft defense still does not achieve 100% efficiency for certain types of missiles," the expert said.

However, according to Ryabikh, against the background of nuclear threats from the Russian Federation, Ukraine needs to update the possibility of obtaining anti-missile defense systems.

First of all, we are talking about American anti-missile systems.

The fact is that NASAMS is a short-range system, which ensures the destruction of targets at short distances.

But the missiles must be destroyed on the approach trajectory.

For this, medium- and long-range anti-missile defense systems are used.

For example, such as Patriot.

The Armed Forces do not have them yet.
