President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is on a state visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, visited the "Ata-Beit" National Historical-Memorial Complex in Bishkek on October 11.

APA reports that President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath in front of the monument.

The head of state also visited the grave of the prominent Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov and laid flowers on it.

It was reported that "Ata-Beyit" National Historical-Memorial Complex was built on July 8, 2000 in order to restore and preserve the historical memory of the most important development stages of Kyrgyz statehood.

The memorial was named "Ata-Beyit" - "Graveyard of the Fathers" at the suggestion of the prominent Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aytmatov.

Built according to modern standards, taking into account the elements of Kyrgyz architecture, the complex consists of three parts - memorial dome, grave slabs and memorial wall.

Documents and photographs reflecting the political life of Kyrgyzstan in the 1920s and 1930s and other historical materials have been collected in the complex with a total area of ​​two hectares.

A cemetery is located in the center of the complex, and a museum also operates here.

The complex also has the "Urkun" monument, which is a symbol of the struggle of the Kyrgyz people.
