In the event of a shortage of electricity in Ukraine, the state will start importing it.

There is also an opportunity to request emergency assistance from European countries, with which Ukraine now has a single energy system.

So far, as of October 11, there is no such need.

This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

According to Shmyhal, the fan power outages are not related to a power shortage in the power system - the outages are needed to repair infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.

"It is important to understand that such consumption restrictions are not related to a power shortage in the power system, but solely to the need to carry out restoration work. Currently, there is no need for emergency assistance from European countries, nor for the import of electrical energy. We have such an opportunity if needed there is," Shmyhal noted.

The Prime Minister also called on Ukrainians to again reduce the use of electrical appliances during peak hours (from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.).

According to Shmygal, energy-intensive devices should not be turned on at this time:

  • electric stoves and ovens;

  • electric kettles, coffee makers and microwave ovens;

  • power tools;

  • heaters and air conditioners;

  • washing machines and dishwashers, irons.

The day before, on October 10, due to an explosion in Lviv,

the work of the city's thermal power plant was temporarily suspended, and a third of the traffic lights were not working.

It will be recalled that Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the head of the President's Office, called the "ceremony of joining" the captured Ukrainian territories into Russia announced in the Russian Federation a

"freak show".
