A Turkish jeep driver was detained for trying to bribe police officers in Haskovo, the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
On October 9, at 2:20 a.m., on "Bulgaria" boulevard, a car patrol - junior inspectors Radan Topalov and Ivo Mishkov, stopped for inspection a jeep driven by a 33-year-old man from Turkey.
In the course of the inspection, he dropped 100 dollars and 60 BGN on the seat of the official car in order to thwart the control.
A breathalyzer test found he was driving with a breath alcohol level of 2.05.
He refused a blood sample for chemical analysis.
He was detained for up to 24 hours following the pre-trial proceedings.

For this year, this is the second case in which Topalov and Mishkov refused a bribe.
The first was on February 11, when a 42-year-old driver from the village of Karamantsi, who had consumed alcohol, handed over 50 euros to the patrol car in order to thwart the inspection.
