Even though we may be celebrating the 75th anniversary of independence as the nectar festival of independence, in reality, even basic facilities like drinking water have not reached a large part of the country.

People are putting their lives at risk and have to bring water from far away rivers, ponds or wells.

A disturbing video has surfaced in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, in which two villagers went to the river to get water and drowned in the swamp on the banks of the river.

They were rescued with the help of villagers and police.  

The viral video is being told of Bakchha Chhani village of Sisolar police station area of ​​Hamirpur district, from where two villagers had gone to take water on the Ken river for drinking and drowned on the banks of the river.

After a lot of effort, both of them could be saved by running a rescue operation. 

In the viral video, an elderly man can be seen lying waist-deep in a swamp while a man tries to pull him out by asking him to hold a wooden stick.

At the same time, a steel vessel can be seen next to the old man, with which he went to the river to get water. 

It is seen in the video that when this old man's life was made on the life, at that time instead of helping the policeman, he is seen making videos from his mobile and laughing.

The policeman is being heavily criticized on social media.

At the same time, social media users have raised questions on the government's promise of providing tap water to every household.  

Locals say that the tap water is saline and not potable, so the villagers are forced to draw water from the river.

The man who was rescued said in another video, "Always go to the river for fresh water."

Another local person said that the Jal Shakti Minister of the state had recently visited Hamirpur in connection with the Namami Gange Mission and assured the local people that they would soon get tap water.
