Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has given a big statement regarding the election for the post of President in NDTV Townhall held in Mumbai on Sunday.

He said that I am a candidate in this election, but I have heard some things that make me think whether this election is really going to be fair.

Tharoor further said that I have been told by some party leaders that pressure is being put on them to support Kharge ji in this election.

However, he has categorically denied making any allegations against the Gandhi family and especially Sonia and Rahul Gandhi for this. 

Shashi Tharoor said that the Gandhi family has already made it clear about this election that they are not officially making anyone a candidate for this post from their side.

Gandhi family is completely fair in this election.

And the Chief Electoral Officer of this election Madhusudan Mistry has also made it clear that no one is from anyone's side in this election.
