PM Modi will inaugurate a solar-powered 3-D projection at the Sun Temple in Modhera on October 9.

Taking a big step towards promoting clean energy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday made Modhera village in Mehsana district of Gujarat India's first solar powered village. (Solar Powered Village). Modhera is famous for its solar temple.

The Gujarat government has shared a series of tweets regarding this.

According to the Gujarat government, more than 1000 solar panels have been installed on the houses in the village which will generate round the clock electricity for the villagers.

It is worth mentioning that solar electricity will be provided to the people at zero cost.

The Gujarat government has said that it has ensured sustainable implementation of various welfare projects in Gujarat in keeping with the Prime Minister's vision of increasing the use of renewable energy in India.

The Sun Temple of Modhera is a protected archaeological site.

This temple will get the facility of 3-D projection on October 9.

The Gujarat government has said that PM Modi will dedicate the 3-D projection powered by solar energy.

Through this, those coming from outside will be told about the history of Modhera.

Under the project, heritage lighting has been installed in the temple premises.

People can visit the temple from 6 pm to 10 pm to see this light.

The 3-D projection will work every day in the evening.


The Sun Temple is situated on the banks of Pushpavati River at Modhera in Mehsana district.

It was built by King Bhima I of Chalukya dynasty in the year 1026-27.
