New Delhi:

A viral video of Congress's Bharat Jodo Yatra has surfaced, in which former party president Rahul Gandhi can be seen holding former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's hand and running with him.

In the video, the former chief minister can be seen initially walking right next to Rahul Gandhi during the march.

He was accompanied by other Congress leaders and security personnel.

Then suddenly to everyone's surprise, Rahul Gandhi grabbed Siddaramaiah's left hand and started running.

The senior Congress leader can also be seen adjusting to Rahul Gandhi till he stops.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Karnataka on 30 September and will continue in the state till 21 October.

As the march entered Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi ensured that both Karnataka Congress stalwarts Siddaramaiah and former cabinet minister DK Shivakumar were given equal importance.

He made clear efforts to strengthen the ties between the two rival leaders and to send a strong message of unity among the party workers.

Rahul Gandhi raised the hand of both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar and asked them to play the dhol together.

Earlier on Thursday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi along with her son Rahul joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Karnataka.

Due to health issues, he participated in some public program after a long gap.

After joining the march in Mandya, when Sonia Gandhi started sitting in the car, she was surrounded by a large crowd of party workers shouting slogans.

They walked for a short distance.

In a picture tweeted by the Congress, Rahul Gandhi was seen tying the laces of his mother's shoes during the march.
