New York Mayor Eric Adams has declared a state of emergency.

APA reports with reference to TAS that it was announced that it was accepted in connection with the large flow of illegal migrants arriving in the city.

E. Adams said that the influx of immigrants from Texas and Florida brought an unbearable burden to New York.

Shelters in New York City, home to about 50,000 homeless people, have been overflowing with illegal migrants sent from border areas over the past few months, with some refugees housed in empty hotels and camps.

The mayor said that the number of people staying in 42 temporarily rented hotels and shelters in New York has reached 61 thousand.
