The train passed through the south pit of Taimali and collided with a man standing beside the railroad tracks. Police and firefighters reportedly rushed to help. The man was apparently dead. The detailed cause of the accident is being investigated by the railway police.

About 200 meters of the tram line between Taitung Dawu and Takixi broke off at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday on the Southern Loop Line of the Taiwan Railway Administration. Taiwan Railway said that at about 1:01 in the morning today, between Zhiben and Taimali (78K+13), 327 trains (Xinzuoying and Taitung, Puyuma) hit the route due to public intrusion, and died on the spot; After the road police searched for evidence and cleared the scene, the 327 train was released at 2:48 a.m. with about 40 passengers on board.

The railway police of Chihpen Station said that the man was about 40 years old.
