On October 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke favorably about the content of the eighth package of sanctions that the European Union will introduce against Russia.

However, this is only the beginning, the president said.

The head of state announced this in an evening video message.

"These days, the European Union is moving towards the introduction of the eighth package of sanctions against Russia. In particular, this package provides for restrictions on the maritime transportation of Russian oil and creates a toolkit to

limit the oil revenues of the terrorist state.

This is good. But this is only the beginning," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that it is necessary to ensure that "the terrorist state does not receive any profit from the sale of oil and gas."

"

So that not a single oil dollar and not a single gas euro can go

to the continuation of the Russian war against Ukraine and the entire civilized world. I am sure that this will be ensured in time," the president noted.

He also thanked all Europeans, all in the free world, who are working for this result.

"Tomorrow, I will continue my work in this direction. I will address the participants of the European Council meeting," announced the head of state.
