The narco-terrorism module has been busted by the Punjab Police ahead of the festive season.

The operator has been arrested including tiffin bomb, two AK-56 rifles and two kg heroin.

Exposeing the SI based terrorist module is considered a big success.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the arrested person is a close associate of Canada based Lakhbir Landa, Pakistan based Harvinder Rinda and Italy based Harpreet Happy.

Amritsar Rural SSP said that the police have identified Landa and five other members of Rinda gang.

Raids have been started to nab them.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav informed that this module is being run jointly by Canada, Pakistan and Italy based gangs.

The arrested person has been identified as Yograj Singh alias Yog, a resident of Rajoke village of Tarn Taran.

Apart from this, the police have also identified five other operators of the module, who are associated with the module for carrying out illegal activities in Punjab and adjoining states.



The police recovered an RDX loaded tiffin box, which was made an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or tiffin bomb, two magazines with two modern AK-56 assault rifles and 30 live cartridges, a .30 bore pistol and 6 live cartridges from the accused. Cartridges and 2 kg heroin have been recovered.



DGP Gaurav Yadav told that the arrested accused Yograj is the main operator of this module and he was wanted in at least five criminal cases including the case of seizure of five AK-47 assault rifles in Tarn Taran in September 2019 by the state police and central enforcement agencies. .

He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that cross-border actions related to smuggling of arms, explosives and drugs were carried out by terrorists/ gangsters Landa, Rinda and Happy and on the instructions of jailed Samglar Gurpavitar alias Sai resident of Lakhna, Tarn Taran, Yograj. Used to go from side to side.

He further informed that Yograj was active in large scale recovery and onward delivery of weapons and narcotics.


Senior Police Captain (SSP) Amritsar Rural Swapna Sharma said that the police have taken major action to expose the members of the Landa-Rinda terrorist module.

Police have succeeded in identifying the five operators of the existing module and raids are on to nab them.

He said that further investigation is on in the matter and recovery of other weapons and explosives is likely to happen soon.
