"The EU has declared 2022 as the "Year of Youth" due to the youth suffering from the coronavirus pandemic in the world.
APA reports that Peter Mikhalko, the ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan, said this at a press conference dedicated to the European Youth Days to be held in Azerbaijan.
Peter Mikhalko added that he is very glad that the EU cooperates with various institutions of Azerbaijan.
First of all, he gave an example of cooperation in the field of education.
"In the 5 years before the pandemic (2014-2019), more than 2,000 Azerbaijani students studied in Europe."
The ambassador added that there has been an increase in the number of Azerbaijani teachers and students going to Europe within the framework of the "Erasmus plus" program this year.
Peter Michalko added that they support the areas that lead to development for young people and create interest in them.
"885 students have benefited from EU vocational training support programs.
In addition, a large number of teachers and students benefited from the programs organized to develop the existing skills of physically challenged youth.
